A week ago now, (Monday last week) - I found out that Everett has to quarantine because someone in his class was tested positive and they're no longer contact tracing in K so the whole class is out. It's really not an easy process since no one will likely feel comfortable watching him with the possibility of getting COVID and I'd never want that to happen. Andre stayed home on Tuesday. Everett had a runny nose since Sunday, I thought it was allergies because the pollen is SO bad right now and we both suffer from seasonal allergies. I got most my sub plans ready, he has to be out until next Wednesday. I got home Tuesday and his nose got better but I could hear that it had moved to his chest. I thought I had Wednesday covered and then Clara woke up not well so I went to work at 6:30am and finished plans for Wednesday through the following Tuesday. I took the kids to the dr Wednesday and Everett was tested since Clara's symptoms had just started. He didn't have covid but he had the flu. Which means Clara likely is starting. Andre went downhill fast and I was super tired and not feeling great but not the down and out flu I've had in years past. Soooo, Andre, Clara, Everett and I ended up home sick together starting Thursday, Andre went to work Wednesday. As horrible as it is to all be sick, it was nice to slow down and spend time together. We also had the concrete poured in the pool Thursday so we could all watch. It was pretty cool. We watched a lot of movies, took naps and ate soup. We all felt better by Saturday, but energy was still low. We cleaned the messy house Sunday and I kept Clara home Monday to be sure. She'll go back tomorrow, if there aren't any more surprises and Everett and I will be going back Wednesday. We have our spring break starting Friday. I felt bad leaving my students, I'm thankful I found a sub. There are NO subs showing up in classrooms and we have our front office staff and anyone willing taking over classrooms and it's very stressful being out. I'm really hoping no one else tests positive. This is a new response, earlier in the year they did contact tracing and the whole class didn't have to be out. It'll be a big problem if it continues, fingers crossed we stay in the clear.
We are expected to learn virtually. Everett's not a fan of the work but super excited to see and hear his teacher and friends.
Merrissa had Lainey Mae!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is doing great!
Clara watching the concrete and a movie at the same time.
Both doing online work.
I love them, tons!
Tried potty training while home. The boy can sure hold his pee and poo. So, once he realizes he can release it in the toilet and be done and move on. He hates being changed and I'm sick of doing it. I don't know if he is uncomfortable and just holds it because it's different for him. I don't know how to get him to go, he holds it for HOURS. Eventually when he needs to hold it it'll be helpful, but I need to get him to go and I seriously need to leave him on the potty all day and it's so long for him and I don't want to make him hate trying. Tomorrow is my last attempt for a bit. I'm trying to be patient, he leaves me no other choice.
This is what the flu looks like, I LOVED soaking up everyone's cuddles.
She never sits, she kept saying how her head hurt when she took steps. She does not complain and handles illness well overall. WAY better than brushing her hair anyway.
Before we all got sick, Clara went to her bff's birthday party. She just wanted Clara to come over for her big day. They had fun!
She is younger than Clara and Clara is tall. Miley's dad looks like he is 7 feet tall, she has his height!
