This beauty is Ivy June, Darren and Corrie's daughter. She is the delightful 5th grader who walks Everett in to class each day when Andre drops him off. On Tuesday and Thursday Darren/Corrie bring him to me at school and he LOVES being with his pal Ivy. I love it because she and the other kids get to know him better. They have the cutest relationship and when he doesn't want to go to school we motivate him by saying, "You'll see Ivy!"
My poor pumpkin needs to have a procedure on his eyes. They're constantly running and his eye doctor is going to "balloon" the "pipes" to expand them. He says it usually helps a lot. We've waited a long time making sure he needs this done. He had them "probed" when he was an infant which helped him some then. He doesn't want to wear his glasses because he can't wipe his eyes. Also, his glasses are constantly smudged with tears. This brave boy knows this process all too well. Even though he doesn't want to leave me, he goes willingly, although it breaks my heart knowing he doesn't know what he is going in for and what pain he'll be in when he comes out. I wish he understood and I could explain the benefit, he is the sweetest. Everyone naturally takes the best care of him since they fall in love with him so fast.
My sweet boy. He is a champ. He was back at school the next day. His eyes were this swollen for a few hours and then they went back to normal. The next day he was back to his usual. The left eye ran a bit which was the "better eye" so that was weird. I wasn't sure if it worked. We went back a few weeks later and everything seemed good. It got better and better and there is less drainage. He will always struggle with drainage when he has any sinus junk going on but the day to day is better for sure! Totally worth it.
picnic time
A small, real tree, for the smell...and so we can see it out the window when we come home.
Maybe one day Everett will be interested but he doesn't like to touch, or eat, the gingerbread house. He does however like the story of the Gingerbread man and when he sings the song he changes it to..."You can catch me...I'm the gingerbread boy!"
For now, it'll be me and my sweetie gal pal on the house building and eating.
Someone LOVES being a pirate.
stopped by the neighbs house to take a pic with "Elf" in the back.
Grinch day for this boy!
She is the most loving sissy!
Fun in class!
"Santa" aka Mrs. Cervoni came to our classroom for the girls. I teach with a friend in the ESOL job I have now and her daughter Ava is just a bit older than Clara and they get to spend time together in class. It's so fun. I want to freeze this age and the joy the holidays bring! Clara made presents for everyone in our room and left surprises under the tree multiple times leading up to the holiday. Her spirit is strong and it reminds me of Ana's and my obsession our entire life, it never gets old!
Ava and her mommy got Clara this cool scorpion that crawls creepily around the ground, super cool, she was obsessed.
PJ day
Clara and her pals from school checking out books for break.
