This has been my most fun Halloween yet. I hate to admit it, but I've never loved Halloween, I'm a big baby. I don't like to be scared, I don't like all the antics, and I'm not creative enough to ever be proud of a costume. Anyway, this year was perfect. Clara watched some shows and read some books and understood the concept of Halloween quite well, not the history, but the concept. Maybe next year we can talk history. ;) She got to paint a pumpkin while Dada carved her's and she helped pull out the guts.
She really didn't like how slimy it was, and said she wasn't going to help. Soon after, she changed her mind.
Hmmmm, not so much. She kept telling us how slippery they were.
She couldn't resist.
We decided Everett should have some sweet potatoes. He really enjoyed them. He would have eaten the entire container but we stopped about 2/3 of the way through just in case it didn't settle well. Clara gave him some bites. She loves to help and LOVES that Bubba!
This little girl loves to read.
Aunt Krissim feeding Everett sweet potates - he loved them. Since then he's been blowing raspberries and spitting everything out.
Ana and Adi
Since Clara could only partake with carving a little, Dada was smart and got one for her to paint.
Our little kitty
Merrissa and I decided we should have dressed up with the girls too, but it was too late. She looked cute, I just made myself dizzy.
These girls were SO ready for Halloween -- Merrissa thinks of everything and the girls had glow bracelets and light up wands. Our neighborhood was booming, Halloween is when the neighbs come out and mingle. I love our neighborhood so much.
Nancy's will always be our first stop! She is so sweet. She got Clara a cute kitty Halloween book and Everett cozy cute pj's.
I can't wait for these two to look back at these pics one day.
Clara LOVED trick-or-treating. She was very business. The moment she got her candy and said thank you she would speed walk away saying, "Cummon guys! Let's Go!" Like she was off to the races. It had nothing to do with the candy and everything to do with the process.
She and Ajae got a treat when they got home, Clara had one bite of the candy she chose which was a twix and she had two bites and was so annoyed that her hands were covered in chocolate she said forget this, and that was that for Halloween candy. Dada took the rest to work.
Merrissa's pics
Love this, thanks Merris.
Everett has not been sleeping - he will take a good hour nap at the end of a "no nap" day if he's in this thing, he slept through Halloween's trick-or-treat event. My heart is at ease when he is sleeping.
