We `are putting up a hoop for the kids. Andre dug the hole the other day and then his shoulder needed help with the cement mixing and filling so we worked as a fam. Sometimes it works out and sometimes Everett wanders off too much and we don't get far. This day both kids played well alone for a few hours and it felt like the good ole days when we used to sweat it out all day outside perfecting our home on the golf course. Everett stayed put playing with bubbles, his ribbon and chalk. Sometimes he tries to wander and it makes it hard to get things done but both kids did well for a few hours, even in the rain!
The bball hoop will be right where andre is standing
Practicing "before/after" with numbers while working on strength.
crossing over midline
practicing counting SLOWLY with marbles - Everett can count very well, but he goes too fast and rushes past numbers and is inaccurate. He understands the concept of adding and could get it all correct if he would slow down!
EVerett snuck my phone and hopped on snapchat, Kylie has told me that sometimes he sends them out, I don't even know how to do that...whoops! Jonny was calling E "captain" while we were home because he liked driving the boat parked or moving so naturally I had to send this to him.
Amazing Marble tower, it's even lined with little notes that are "homes" for the marbles as they pass by they go from room to room.
Wishful thinking...
Everett "accidentally" pooped on the potty the other morning. He did ask to go so I can't say it was 100% accidental but he ended up having diarrhea for a few days non-stop so I think it was a fluke. I kept his undies off to see what would happen and he did come tell me he pooped while I was in the shower. That was great improvement because he never tells me. I thought it was just some skids then I realized there was quite the lump down his leg. We threw those away and put some undies on. Not much later I asked him to come downstairs and he didn't move or speak. I asked again and he said, "Mommy, poop". I walked up and he was standing in a puddle and had pooped again. This all happened in about 30 minutes which made me realize, it was tummy troubles. He then continued to poop for two and a half days, it wouldn't stop, poor boy. Needless to say...not potty trained. I finally found someone who specializes in the pelvic floor, for special needs kids. She gave me a lot of great feedback and we are chipping away at her ideas. Bottom line, she doesn't think he has the knowledge of his body parts down there, and also lacks control/understanding of "pushing/relaxing/squeezing". Being in the pool puts pressure on your body and often causes movement in the bowels so she doesn't think his pool pooping is at all intentional. We have found lots of potty pants that keep all the goods that come out in the pool contained now. I feel defeated and like we're moving backwards, but I'm not in control and unfortunately neither is Everett. I'm taking the small steps suggested by the expert and staying patient.
The talking hamster is Everett's favorite present from his friend, Lennon. He goes home with her after school sometimes and she has this toy that he plays with at her house so she got one for him. We lost it at some point in the first 24hrs in NY and I use it to motivate him on the potty. It repeats everything he hears in a high pitched squeaky voice, super annoying, but he LOVES it so much we had to deal with it. Look how happy he is to get his new hamster.
In his latest Kiwi kit we did projects on nocturnal animals, here is my "bat" man.
He had to hop on one leg in a race in martial arts. Let's keep in mind he just learned how to hop on two feet not long ago. The boy was so determined. Of course everyone else was done in 10-15 seconds and it took him more than double with help. However, the smile on his face for achieving this race on one foot while the kids cheer his name is pretty amazing! He is the most determined little man!
This little girl loves her Bubby boy so much she cannot help but hang on him and love on him while she helps him through his classes.
Our babies are getting so big!
Taking E to ENT to check on his ear and she said it's all healed and have at it. We don't need to use earplugs in the pool on the right unless we have reoccurring issues however, he is good about leaving them in so we put both in anyway. I like taking precaution...
July came and it's time to get our brains in gear. Time for the park and for some math today!
