Halloween parade 2017

Our school didn't do the Halloween parade last year and as a teacher I was so excited because it's such a cluster and there's no learning and I have to dress up and I'm a party pooper when it comes to Halloween. The parents aparently asked for us to do it again as it was done for years in the past, and now I get it, it's fun for the kids...most of them.

I think I'll have to take a personal day next year so I can do what I did this year and walk with Clara, next year Clara and Bubba in the parade. I spent the morning helping the kids get ready and it's so cute, unlike 5th grade where too many of the girls are already trying to dress too skimpy. I love being in the toddler world!

There are two boys that have some trouble behaving in her class, one is holding my hand, he did great as we walked...I could not do what her teacher does all day. No Way!

This guy

This little guy is making many changes. He is Mr. Babble, although it's only at about a 6 month level, it's more than he ever has and he mimics sounds of each word I ask him to say. He can say: dada, mama, dog, fish, done, and many more he gets either the beginning or ending. He will sign or speak. We tried an ap and we're also going to use cards to help him tell us better what he wants, he is good at answering what he wants and choosing between items but still doesn't tell me if he is hungry or thirsty. Clara sometimes still doesn't, kids I think block out what they need and just get cranky.

He is getting very steady and could totally walk but isn't confident enough. So, we're working hard on his core and leg strength in hopes he becomes more confident and steps out of his comfort zone, pun intended. He can stand independently when I get him busy and he doesn't realize he's doing it, the moment he does he sits down.

He is mastering may toys, can complete so many puzzles and even brand new ones quickly. He loves to read and is great at identify pictures in a group and matching pictures. His pincer grasp is getting better and will use the skill upon request but not on his own.

He has one last eye tooth that is taking its sweet old time coming in. It's almost here, I think. I haven't rocked him at 5am like I usually do in two weeks, he is still up at five. He has fallen back asleep two times later in the morning. He just has an alarm clock that wakes him up at 5, he is still tired and tries to sleep but can't get himself back to sleep. Time will tell what I decide to do, he's very useless at therapy when he's up at 5am.

Most importantly, he is happy and so silly all of the times, purposefully making us laugh and is all smiles. He has silly faces he loves to make and we all imitate him . He plays by himself all the time, he never needs anything or anyone, he fends for himself. He has progressed in feeding therapy and is drinking from a straw cup well now but not on his own, we're working on self feeding but he is doing great and has a good appetite and eats a variety of foods.

He is as sweet and cuddly as they come and the best snuggler around.

Fall festival

We went to the Sacred Fall Festival, it was perfect for Clara, next year bubs can join in the fun.

I didn't dress him like this, he soaked his other shirt and I left him mismatched since he fit right in! ;)
