14 Weeks

I don't want to speak too soon but I had more energy than usual today. I wouldn't say as much as I used to but I'll take any improvement. I'm still nauseous but not as bad as usual. I'm hoping that the improvements continue now that I'm done with the first trimester!

My sister-in-law, Tiffany told me about the brilliant idea to hold the fruit that is comparable to the size of the baby. At 14 weeks they say s/he is 3inches and 1.5 oz. about the size of a lemon.

This week my uterus is rising out of my pelvic region and into my lower abdomen so I keep reading I should be showing. My pictures don't quite look like a pregnancy belly yet, just looks like I'm out of shape and eating too many sweets. My tight pants are proving this theory too!

New Tropical Guest Room

Today Andre and I, mainly Andre, are putting the floor in for our new guest room to free up the other for the future baby room. I'm normally as hard working as Andre but these days my pregnancy fatigue and holds me back along with some of the fumes. We work well together for the most part, recently Andre has admitted that I give him good ideas and he should listen to them sooner and sometimes we just butt heads. We've been doing projects since the day I met him. I met him one week after his mom passed away and our first project was getting her house ready for sale. It was very special to me since that's the only connection I'll have to his past and his parents. I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to help and it was a great way to get to know my now brother-in-law Steven. It taught me a lot about their character right away. It must have been such a devastating project for them both however we had a great time together, smiling and laughing through it all. Without knowing it, Steven taught me how to deal with Andre from the start. Andre is the unelected "project manager" and it's wise to not take his bossyness personally. It's a quality of his that can make a right hand man want to abort but he is a perfectionist and everything we do turns out spectacular because of him so I've learned to be thankful for this quality. I'm looking forward to these projects to be done as always but neither Andre or myself sit still well. I do like to "play" more than him but once he convinces me to start a new project I'm always very happy we did it. I think we will decide to rest after this room and the baby room are done since it'll be our last opportunity for some time. That's my hope anyway!

We live in a four bedroom, three full bath house. We just finished redoing the Jack n' Jill bathroom fit for giving baths now. We're moving one of the guest rooms into a room we used for storage and the litter box until now. This soon to be guest room/office will lead out to the pool and has a great view of our tropical paradise in our backyard. Andre finished painting it this week and we have been putting the floor in all weekend. Andre is finishing the puzzle piece floor. Next is to put the baseboards on, hang pictures and shelving, and move the furniture over. We like how the room is turning out and want to sleep in the room for a night when we're done.

We're going to practice some beach volleyball this afternoon. Andre, Darren, Steven and I have played fours for two seasons. We have been taking a break since Darren tore his Achilles tendon about 8 months ago. Being over 3 months pregnant and only growing I'm not sure I'll be much help to these boys but I'll give it a try! I'm looking forward to being outside in the nice weather and getting some exercise.

Weekend Update

Andre and I had a very productive weekend. I spent time going through lots of boxes and closets trying to get rid of "stuff" and condense it all. Andre started painting our soon to be guest room that we are switching over. We'll still have two guest bedrooms and it'll open the bedroom we want for the baby room. I walked down memory lane going through boxes of pictures and cards. I love to look back at my past memories, there are so many experiences, friends, and family I'm thankful for. It's obvious to me I lived my childhood and early adulthood, and 20's to the fullest and am ready to have a change of pace with my own family. I'm hoping to get many of those pictures and memories scanned and into a blog someday!

We wanted our new guest room/office to have a Caribbean feel. We picked some "warm" colors and finally decided on one. It's pretty bright and inviting, hopefully not too blinding. Once we get the floor, furniture and décor in we hope it calms the brightness some.

Our house is mostly Spanish colors so this room will add a new touch!

12 week update

Hi Baby!
We got to see you again today! It was so very exciting! We can see your little baby body formed now. You were very active inside my belly. You were moving all over the place. We saw your mouth open and close and it looked like you were drinking. We saw your belly was full of fluid so you were swallowing. Then we zoomed in and saw you were trying to suck on your fingers. You couldn't quite get them in your mouth but you were close! Your mom and cousin Brandi sucked our thumbs for way too long so this action doesn't surprise me. We heard your heartbeat again, it was loud and strong. You're only two inches long from your head to your butt and your body is very formed. Daddy thinks you have Grandpa Tiger's nose. It even looks like you are grinning in your picture. We got all good news from the blood work that was taken at 8 weeks. I gave more blood this time to check for more screenings but the doctor had only good news to pass to your excited parents. We can't wait to go back in a month to find out if you are a boy or a girl!! We don't care either way, we just want you to be a happy, healthy baby. Your cousin Gabrielle really wants you to be a girl because she already has 5 boy cousins and a little brother. You'd make her very happy if you were a girl! Seeing you for just a few seconds makes months of feeling sick more than worth it.

cheese!

This picture looks like you have your arms behind your back just chillin.

I'm feeling about the same. Sleepy and nauseous most days but I have had a handful of days that are better. I am hoping that in the next two weeks, by the end of the 14 week mark I'm feeling much better! Andre is taking very good care of me, making sure I relax, eating cereal for dinner when I can't go near the kitchen. He's always asking me how I feel and giving me extra hugs and kisses when I'm down and out. I normally work around the house and lawn as hard as he and I've not been able to. He doesn't seem to mind one bit, he wants me to rest and feel better. I'm very thankful for that because I hate being unproductive as it is, I'm my own worst enemy feeling lazy and useless. FCAT is next week so this is a hectic time of year that runs me down when I'm feeling good anyway.

11 Week Update

I had a productive Spring Break, cleaning house, errands, school work, and relaxing! My first week back Monday through Thursday were GREAT! I thought I was out of the yuck of my first trimester and then it all snuck back up on me by Friday and hasn't let up since.
