Mr. boy

Everett has been having the best year in K. He has so many wonderful friends that love him so much. I know he teaches them just as much as they teach him. His teacher and aide are wonderful and we have the gift of having everyone again next year. Ms. Greene is LOOPING with the kids so he'll have her again in first grade. I wanted to keep E back in K, but he does know a lot that it taught. He can read, he knows all his letters and letter sounds. He knows his numbers and is learning to add and subtract. His writing needs help but I'm not even certain that he can write with all that goes on with his eyes. I'm looking into that now so we don't hold him to an expectation that's not fair to him. He is a hard worker and gaining so much confidence in class. He loves them all so much. He got sick with pneumonia this week and we have been home all week minus Monday. His class sent him a video and he will not stop watching it, he loves listening to all their sweet messages. Ms. Greene brought over cards from everyone and he has been reading them non-stop and LOVES finding their names!!

He did 17 tally marks all by himself. He is so proud of his work...

Home with pneumonia, still snuggling with him for naps in his chair. One of my favorite places on the planet. I seriously feel like we will be shoving in this chair together forever, I hope. We have spend a lot of time in this chair this week, keeping him upright so help stop the coughing.

Tammy, his teacher sends me such positive messages that make my day. She sees his abilities way more than his struggles and it helps him soar!

Everett was doing the read aloud for the class. She told me he won't do it when asked but one day he went up on his own and started doing this and the rest of the class hurried to the carpet to listen like they do for the other students. She couldn't get her camera because when she does he stops, just like at home. The kids get just as excited when he steps up his game, just like his teachers.

Natural way to cool off. It has been windy and when you get in the water and get out it's chilly somehow. We have been using the pool to keep his fever down. He has been acting himself because we all know battling pneumonia at home is nothing for this kid.

Dr. Office. He had a fever Monday, and developed a cough. I waited to see what would happen on Tuesday since I always jump the gun and go to the dr and they cannot do anything. Tuesday he was about the same so I was just riding it out. Tuesday night he was up with chills. :( So I took him Wednesday and he has pneumonia. The ONE time I don't take him he actually has something he needs medicine for. I felt really bad. I feel like I overreact and now I know why I do, and I'll never wait again. He was fine of course, and eating and drinking fine, that's why I thought he was just dealing with some sniffles and a cough. Mom fail. He has been doing fine, Tuesday night was the worst of it and now the antibiotic has given him the runs. I'm going to try to see if I can get him something else. He hasn't had a fever since yesterday, Thursday. It's been a week of doing lesson plans late and rushing them to school with Clara in the am and getting things settled. My students need me too but he needs me more. I feel bad for them, but I'm super thankful this didn't happen the week before when we had state testing! Way to hold out for us E! ;)

Looks like a sick kid, huh?!?!?! This is why his dr.'s never do anything because he acts perfectly fine when he is seriously sick.

Livin the dream-ish - we're both super cool with whatever life throws at us as long as we are not in the hospital!

Using the hose for an EXTRA cool down. I didn't let him go under but I did get his hair wet with my hands to cool down that fever!

Getting our hands dirty, they know to send a friend with him who doesn't mind touching dirt. Everett will, but he is VERY apprehensive.
