Back to school…2023

First day of school! I can't believe I have a 4th grader and second grader, thankfully not a third grader. I don't know what I'd do if that sweet boy had to deal with third grade this year! It's...a lot. Clara going to a new school. She handled it like a CHAMP! I was super sad not to have my girl with me, both my kids not with me, BUT I'm thankful they're together and at the school they are at for sure!

My true feelings after we pull away. I smile for them but dep down I'm devastated we're not at the same school. It will never feel right not being with my babies. I do feel like this is the best scenario, for now. What I want most is time with them. Having the ESOL position allows me to have less work to take home, which gives me more time outside of school with my kids which is the goal. When I didn't get the job at Madeira (where they go) a few years back, I was devastated. I became a teacher to be with my kids, like I was once with my mom at school. Being with my mom at school gave me a comfort I'll never be able to describe. I knew I'd want to be with my kids and watch them grow, through elementary. I had to let this dream go.  I knew deep down it was for the best somehow, and now I see why I didn't get the job at Madeira. Having the ESOL position gives me the ability to teach kids, which thankfully ended up being a passion of mine and something I'm great at, along with great hours and time off with my own kids.  I took and am posting this ugly cry picture for my kids. So they'll know, although I smile when I pull away, I'm never really happy without them by my side. I love you two SO much!
