Week 6 and some of 7

Clara is doing very well, growing way too big too fast. She stands on my legs or belly and walks up my stomach. When I balance her she holds her head on her own very well. This week she has days where she doesn't sleep at all and days she sleeps most of the day. She is a very happy baby, smiling more and more, coo-ing and talking to me especially when she wakes up in the morning. Sometimes she sleeps deep but it's rare, she is a light sleeper like mommy. She went to her first birthday party, her friend Liam turned one. He my friend Kate's son. He is such a good boy and they had the cutest Surfer themed party, so many kids. Clara slept through part of the party and hung out on daddy's lap awake for part. Happy Birthday Liam!

Lots of presents!

Happy with his bottle since he doesn't like real food.

Liam's adorable cousin tried to get him to like his cake, he doesn't like any food, let alone sweets. Crazy boy!

This week Dave & Stacy stopped by to see the little one. They brought Reece and Reid who are adorable and getting so big.

Week 7 went so fast I had to add it to 6. Clara is so bright and full of big smiles all day. She went for her two month shots this week and that was no fun. She did a great job. After being stabbed in the little chicky legs (as Andre and I call them) three times by three big needles she went into a loud cry that soon turned into a silent cry and as soon as I could pick her up she was happy. She did run a fever for the next two days and didn't want mommy to put her down. One night we were up all night snuggling as she was restless. She "lost her appetite" or so I thought. I finally figured out she didn't want to lay on her legs, duh, so I changed up my hold to feed her and she did much better. I am appalled that they put big sticky band aids on their legs as those were just as painful as the shots. I read online and found that if I rubbed them with olive oil they'd come off easier and it did help, however little baby Clara has cute patches of hair on her upper thighs so it hurt I'm sure. Mommy was as gentle as she could be. I'm sad to say that with all this torture this week Clara is now crying tears, I didn't realize that didn't happen right away and it's been an extra dagger to the heart when she cries to see her little baby eyes flood with tears. Our three month visit is shot free but most there after she gets poked, I'm not liking this at all.

She weighed 10 lbs. 11.5oz. which was in the 51%tile, her length was 22.5 in. 70th%tile, and her head measured 14 and 3/4 in. which is in the 42nd %tile. The doctor says she is growing just fine, I'm always worried she's not gaining enough weight since she spits up so much.

Loves looking in the mirror.

Poor baby with a fever, her hair is wet from a cool wash cloth I kept rubbing over her head that helped her temperature and helped her sleep. She was happy as long as she was being snuggled.

Her LIPS!!!

My little cutie manages to smile even when she doesn't feel well. I love you little beauty!

She passed back out after I got her bandaids off, you can see her chicky leggy is red. :((((

My happy camper after shots, before fever...

Poor chicky leggs!! You can see she is starting to get some pudgy on her legs, a little fat roll is on the inside of both her thighs. Her chunky cheeks make her look like she is a pudgy baby however she is quite lean. We're trying to get some more meat on those bones!

Mama with her pumpkins. This was day two of fever. I stayed in bed to snuggle so I could try and sleep while she did. I am normally not able to sleep while she is on my chest because she is a noisy sleeper and she moves quite a bit. She finally fell asleep hard and then I did and kept waking us up snoring myself, haha, oops! You can see I had enough time to make myself popcorn for lunch. One of the things I've noticed about mommyhood is there is NO time to eat, I inhale all my food if I get it and now when I even have a minute to eat I still inhale it out of habit. I got brain freeze from eating yogurt so fast the other day, I didn't think that was possible.

Look at this cutie smile when she feels like poo!

Love my Shal, she gets no attention from me anymore...someday I'll have hands to pet you again!

Early in week 7 Clara had a day where she didn't want to nap. We decided to get all her toys out to play since she is quite attentive. I think Santa already came for our darling Clara!

Yay, toys!
